NEW BEDFORD, MA

A few weeks back we travelled up to New Bedford, MA for a friends wedding.  We hit up the local Target as is tradition when we travel to new lands, learned a ton about whaling and Chris had his first taste of lobster bisque (he loved it).   The wedding was beautiful, held in a small garden of an old manor, after which a trolly took us to our next location. The reception and cocktail hour were held in the Whaling Museum, so before we sat down to eat they had us noshing on delicious appetizers and cocktails while we walked and mingled throughout the museum.  It was both social and informative!  And such a great idea.   We were late on reserving a room in the wedding party hotel, so Chris and I stayed a few miles away in a little place called the Moby Dick Motel, which, while still a motel strip on the side of the highway with alarmingly low ceilings, was quite charming.   Success!
